hand-packed, unwaxed apples! LynOaken Farms'
apples are carefully grown, picked, stored, packaged, delivered
and shelved with a careful eye, so that only the finest we have
to offer is delivered to your local Apple Retailer. Our 2007-08
season will bring a number of apple favorites to market. Click

placed in refrigerated trucks and go straight to our cooler

 Crisp,
crunchy apples stay crisp & crunchy when stored properly
at home. The following are our recommendations...
|
|
- Handle apples gently to prevent bruising.
- Refrigerate in the crisper section.
Cool air maintains quality, juiciness & crispness.
Apples stored at room temperature deteriorate ten times
faster than refrigerated apples.
- Store apples in a ventilated plastic
bag away from foods with strong odors.
- Avoid storing apples with broccoli,
cabbage, cauliflower, cucumbers, leafy greens, lettuce
or spinach. Apples give off gas that can damage these
vegetables. This same gas will speed the ripening of bananas,
kiwis, peaches, plums and pears. Place these fruits into
a paper bag with an apple to ripen much quicker.
